Members
Agreement
We ask all members of our gardening group to sign up to a ‘members agreement’. Creating a members agreement is essential for ensuring that all participants understand their responsibilities, the rules of the garden, and the overall goals of the community. We've committed to being good neighbours and need you to do the same.
As a member, I agree to:
1
Garden access
-
Access the garden ONLY via public footpaths from Church End, High Street or Picknage Road. I understand there is no access to the garden by foot, bicycle or vehicle via King Edgar Yard Private Drive for any purpose including drop off or collection.
2
Participation and contribution
-
Garden only at specific allocated times as part of a group, which is currently a Thursday morning each week. I will not garden outside of these allocated times.
-
Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of common garden areas.
3
Tools and equipment
-
Bring and use my own tools if possible.
-
Not bring power tools onto site unless by prior agreement with the Committee.
-
Use shared tools responsibly and return them to their storage space when I have finished using them.
-
Report any damage or loss of tools to a committee member.
4
Safety
-
Wear appropriate clothing and protective equipment to suit gardening tasks.
-
Keep walkways and paths clear of trip hazards.
-
Store tools safely when not using them (e.g. forks standing up in the ground, propped against a fence).
-
Report all accidents on the day they have occurred to a member of the committee.
-
Comply with the health & safety policy.
-
Take instruction from the lead gardener at the sessions I attend.
5
Behaviour
-
Treat fellow gardeners with respect.
-
Speak to a member of the committee if I have concerns about another gardener’s behaviour.
6
Dogs
-
Not bring my dog(s) to any gardening sessions.
-
If visiting the garden at other times, keep my dog(s) on lead and pick up any mess left.

Fancy a trial session?
